The Scope of Fashion – NIFT

In India the scope of fashion technology is increasing day by day and the students are moving towards this profitable profession which is flooded with fame and popularity. NIFT is the largest and best institute of fashion technology in India.

The National Institute of fashion Technology was set up in 1985-86 in New Delhi with the view to expand human assets in the turf of fashion design, technology, and management. This institute was setup under the support of Ministry of Textile, govt. of India. NIFT has been working with its standards, competence and ability to produce excellent designers in the field of fashion design. This institute has given many creative masterminds to the world. This institute is working with its network of seven centers at New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai.

The area where this institute of dreams is situated is approximately 20,000 square meters in area, and the built up area is around 11,300 square meters with 3 floors. It has within ten class rooms, four IT labs, and three foundation program studios, two audio visual rooms, one cyber café. Not this it ends; it has one large auditorium and a resourced library including wing covering 340 square meter area. This was all about the physical emergence of the institute.

Courses It Offers:

NIFT offers 4 years undergraduate and 2 years pg programs in the field of design, management and technology, the students who complete fruitfully can receive graduate diploma from NIFT. And the students who complete UG and 2 years PG program are eligible for bachelor/ master degree in the above fields. And one more facility that it offers to all its candidates is that there is no age bar for anyone.

Admission Procedure:

The details for the admission in NIFT for 2007 will be available in the month of November. The applications forms will be issued in the month of November and the last date for filling the form is January 2007 and the entrance exams for UG and PG programs will held in the month of February 2007. But candidate can apply for one program only. The prospectus you can get by postal order on paying 200/- only and you can get it by hand only in 125/- through DD. Fashion Technology

40 seats at each center – 20 in Apparel Manufacturing,

20 in IT at NIFT – New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Kolkata & Mumbai.

This program is designed to train students in the core garment manufacturing technology. The program offers specialization in Apparel Manufacturing and Information Technology from second year onwards. Apart from the common subjects , the students would be required to select one stream of specialization in each semester.
