HOW TO WEAR SARI

Indian sari is a beautiful attire which adds the grace factor to your personality and wearing it is so simple. For wearing Indian sari person needs a matching blouse and a matching peticot.

Blouse is generally coming with the saree these days or a plain rubia cloth of the same colour will do. A person has to get it stitched through tailor and it should be kept in mind that its fitted otherwise the grace of wearing or tieing a sari goes away along with the hanging blouse.

While stitching a peticot it should be kept in mind that its not too long and its height is similar to your height. Peticot should always be tied tight as it holds all the weight of sari on itself so if peticot is not tied properly it will loosen up the sari.

-Wear your blouse and peticot then hold the starting edge of your sari and start tucking it inside the peticot from the right side and talk a turn and cover whole peticot until it comes to the starting from where you started to tuck it.One thing should be kept in mind while putting a sari that if a person prefers to wear a heel it should be worn earlier and saree should touch the ground and feet while tucking.

-Now that the Sari is draped around your waist in one complete turn, you have to make large pleats in a fan-like fashion - (generally about 5-6 large ones) to tuck in a bunch at the navel. This is what gives the Sari its beautiful fall and flare, since the pleats are bunched together at the navel and flare out towards your feet.

-Check that each pleat falls to the same length.pose2n.jpg

-After tucking the saree dont forget to pin up the sari and the peticot together so that sari dosen’t slips. Now its the time to make pallu i.e the portion of the sari which covers the upper part(breast part of the body).Make sure that you have enough sari to drap it as a pallu. There are many ways to wear a Indian sari like back pallu, front pallu and open pallu but the most common and stylish are open pallu and front pallu.

-Drape the Sari length once around the waist, this time, do not tuck in the upper border into the petticoat drawstring, but use it to neatly cover the back, taking it upwards under the right armpit and then across the left
shoulder.

-The part that now falls over the left shoulder is the ‘pallu’. It should not quite touch the floor, but should be atleast of knee-length or a little more.

This way enjoy the magic of traditionalism and Indian fashion.
