We all are facing tensions in life but few things relax you and gives you peace of mind yoga and meditation is one of them. Lets know more about it. The following techniues helps you relax and empower yourself every morning before going to work and can also be practiced whenever you need a break.
*Sit with your spine straight wherever you are . Keep hands in your lap or thighs, with palms facing upwards.
*Check your body for any tense areas. Consciously relax your muscles by gently willing them to do so.
*Focus on your breathing.
*Place your hand lightly on your navel and breath deeply so that your abdomen moves out on inhalation and in on exhalation. This is the right way to breathe. The above can be reinforced by placing a thin paper on your tummy and watching its rise and fall when you are in bed.
*Once you have consciously made your breathing deep and abdominal, watch how the breath makes not only your abdominal swell,but also your chest expand your shoulders rise with each in-breath.
*Now bring your attention to your nostrils and feel your breath enter and leave.
*Concentrate on the air enrtering your nostrils, passing throught the funnel of your nose and then entering your throat.
*For a few minutes , take your attention to the pit of your throat and feel the air passing through the windpipe in the chest.
*Now take a few deep breath and feel the energy in breath diffusing into every body cell, infusing it with oxygen , vitality and healing energy. Affirm mentally-”When i breathe, every cell gets filled with radiant prana and gets healed”
*When you exhale, affirm and intend “Waste and all negativity is being expelled from my body, making me healthier and younger.
*If there is a particular part of your body in distress, eg -headache or gastritis, take a few deep breath and visualise the breath going to that area, to relieve the block and heal the discomfort. By practising the above you tune in with your prana and can direct it to heal your body and calm your mind.
