1. Before you start, check for fuel in the tank and air pressure of the tyres, and
inform your family/ friends for where you are going and how long.
2. Ensure that your cell phone is charged. Keep the phone on ready mode at the number of the person you’d like to call in case of trouble.
3. Keep a torch, pen and paper, a first-aid kit and some loose cash in your car. Also, keep, a stick, a knife, pepper spray or chilli powder handy. Keep all car doors locked.
4. Avoid deserted and poorly lit stretches of road. Short cuts are not a safe bet after dark.
5. Pay attention to your surroundings, keeping a lookout for trailing vehicles and landmarks.
6. Park your car in well lit places where your parking attendant can see you.
7. Dont give lift to strangers; don’t get out of your car in dark, unknown places.
8. In case of car trouble, stay calm. Dont get out of the car. Lock all your doors. Call for help from your cell phone to your family/friends or police.
After taking these precautionary measures dangers coming towards a women can be avoided upto certain extent because precaution is better then cure.
