Vastu the Basics

People spend crores in construction of there houses but sometimes we see after having beautiful and comfortable houses, people are not happy and satisfied and start blaming there luck, destiny for the failure but “Vastudosh” in the house could be one of the reason for this.
Vaastu is an ancient indian literature on architecture, iconography and art relating to structures and building. It is derived from the word “vastoshpati” meant to provide protection, hapiness and prosperity in the life. These basic elements which is considered important in Vastu are Akash (SKY), Prithvi (EARTH), Paani (WATER), Agni (FIRE), and Vayu (WIND).
Vastu specially consist of positive as well as negative energy which constantly interact each other on the surface of the land. To manage these energies in there best wayso that person can get the maximum amount of positive energy from the house is basically, Vastu.
Catagories of Vastu
Bhoomi - The earth, plot or site for the dwelling.
Prasada - The structures on the Bhoomi.
Yaana - Movable Objects like Vehicles placed on the Bhoomi.
Sayana - Furniture placed inside the Prasada.
Here are some of the tips taken into consideration while construction of your house.
Kitchen
*Kitchen should be towards southeast direction. Alternatively, it can located in the North West.
*cook should face East or North.
Storage
*Wealth and cash should be stored at north direction.
*Jwellery should be kept in south direction.
Puja room
*Puja room should be constructed in the North East direction. Person worshipping the god should face East. According to Vastu one should never sleep in the puja room.
Bedroom
*The main bedroom should be located in the South. If the bedroom is located in the North, there would be unrest in the family.
*While sleeping head of the person sould be in South direction or west direction. No one should sleep with there legs towards south direction.
*One should not eat the meal in the bedroom especially with sitting on bed.
Bathroom
*The bathroom should ideally be located in the East. Alternatively, it can be located in the North-West. Bathroom should never be located in the North East.
*Wash basin etc. should be mounted on the Eastern wall of the bathroom.
*Children’s room can be located in this corner i.e. the North West.
Doors
*Main door of the house should be two doors, not be too noisy and should not be painted black.
*If the door is cracked or chapped owner of the house will have tough time gaining his prestige in the society.
*The total number of doors, windows and ventilators in the house should be even in number.
*Staircase of the house should not be broken as owner can have problems of wealth and career.
*Light and cool colours should be used in the houses, dark colours should be avoided.
*Erotic pictures should not be used in the house for the purpose of decoration.
