I completely agree with Sabyasachi Mukherjee and also feel encouraged to hear such a grounded outlook from a well-known international designer like him. Its really true that whenever any so-called fashion show or ramp walk takes place ,we only get see models flaunting unwearable dresses with an western influence.

Few days back I was watching a show in Zoom TV, which was promoting young designers through a contest. They were given a topic : Bohemian. All out of all the contestants designed some mexican outfit, victorain hat, spanish bags etc. A questioned popped in my mind, does'nt Indian feel bohemian?Or is it really hard to imagine a Indian bohemian woman traditionally dressed.

Also there is so much from Rajasthan, the printed pagris, accessoris, specially putting flower on head is way back old south-indian tradition, but it is hardly used.

In this respect I really admire Ruby Russel, a designer from Bangladesh, who designs on "ghamchas" a traditional printed cloth which functions as a towel.
