Pierre Cardin, on of the most celebrated designer of France was born on 7th of July, 1922 in Treviso in France. Because of his dedication and experience in fashion industry he is regarded as the one amongst the top fashion designers around the world.

He completed his studies in architecture when in 1945 he moved to Paris and joined Jeanne Pacquin. Aftre tjhis he also worked with Schiaparelli, then with Jean Cocteau and then with Christian Bernard.
Then it was in 1947 that Cardin was offered to work as head for the world’s one of the best known brands Christian Dior atelier, but was denied work at Balenciaga.
In 1953 it was the time when Cardin launched his own house to begin with his Couture collection. But everything did not go well and in 1959 he was expelled from the Chambre Syndicate for launching hid ready-to- wear collections for the Printemps department store as the first couturier in Paris, but was soon reinstated.
Nevertheless, he soon resigned from the Chambre Syndicale in 1966, and then he began to showcase his collection from his own venue, the Espace Cardin (opened 1971) in Paris, formerly the Théâtre des Ambassadeurs, near the American Embassy.
The Espace is also used to encourage and promote the new talents, ensembles, etc.
The success story:
Pierre is regarded as the first designer to have made Japan as a high fashion market, and it was in 1959 when he travelled there.
He has left his mark not only on the couturier field, he began to expand his talent and creativity in areas of car designing when in 1972 and 1973 he contracted with the American Motors to design the car interiors.
In 1973, Cardin received the Basilica Palladiana Award for the most successful Venetian that year.
In 1974, Cardin was awarded the EUR Award, which is known to be equivalent of an Italian Academy Award, for his varied and successful enterprises in the world of entertainment.
1977, Cardin received the Golden Thimble of French Haute-Couture Award
In 1985, it was even great time for Cardin when he was was awarded the Fashion Oscar at the Paris Opera and later, was named as a Commander of the Order of Merit by the President of France.
Then in 1981 he also purchased restaurants on Maxim in 1981 and then he opened its branches in New York, London, and Beijing (1983). During this time he also licensed a wide range of products under that name.
In 1997, he had the nation’s highest honor, yes he was decorated as a Commander of the Legion of Honor in France.
