The 28-year-old Kolkata-based Mukherjee, with his collection being “an international styling with an Indian soul”, is a diehard fan of Indian traditions and culture and specializes in Indian traditional wear, bridal wear, Western wear and Indo-Western wear.

Sabhyasachi is disappointed with the ruin of Indian textiles as Designers are not using the rich Indian textiles in the right way rather they are running toward the western silhouettes and textures. In his opinion south Indians are still upto their culture and hold it like japanese. He says you can see bit of India alive in south in terms of clothings otherwise brides have also changed the way they looked in 1950, 1960 now they have given their bridal wear a modern touch which is not Indian bride.

“Creativity has died and nothing new is coming up in the market. The main aim of designers is to lure consumers at the stake of creativity,” Mukherjee explained.

Sabhyasachi will always emphasis on the Indian textiles and culture in his forthcoming collection, these days sabhyasachi is busy designing for ethnic men’s collection which will  truly be a reflection of Indian mannered male.
